How to Reduce Energy with Your Home Electronics

How to Reduce Energy with Your Home Electronics
All You Magazine noted that 75% of the electricity used to power home electronics is consumed while they are not in use. There are many areas of the home that energy-saving strategies can be implemented, but in this article I'd like to share some tips I learnt of that can help to save you a bundle on your home electronics.

Instructions
Step 1
Unplug Electronic Devices: You are paying for your microwave, TV, cell-phone charger or computer even when you're not using them. Unplug them.

Step 2

Use a Power Strip: Use a power strip to plug clustered electronics. Turn them all off at one time before you head to vacation, bed or work.

Step 3
Put Your Computer to Sleep: This allows you to power down your computer when it is not in use.
Step 4
Shut It Down: If the monitor is not in use for more than 20 minutes, turn it off. If you're not going to use your computer for more than two hours, turn it off.
